UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL 'ALTERNATIVE VOICES IN EUROPEAN CINEMA''
Member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals and partner
of Cinésites (European festival that takes place in France,
Germany, Spain, Italy and Camerun), the festival is mainly financed
by Italian and European public funds: Program MEDIA, British Council,
Italian Ministry of Cultural Goods, General Management of Cinema,
the region of Umbria, the province of Perugia, the town of Montone,
the town of Umbertide, the Mountain Community Association, Alto
Tevere Umbro.
Our private sponsors are: Cassa di Risparmio at Città di
Castello, Cassa di Risparmio at Perugina, Monte dei Paschi Di Siena,
RIGENERA, Viabizzuno progettiamo la luce.
The festival is organized by the Umbria Film Festival ONLUS Organization
and by the town of Montone.
UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL ONLUS ORGANIZATION
The Umbria Film Festival Onlus Organization was founded in Umbertide
(Perugia) on November 13th, 1995, and it has been a non-profit
organization since January 1st, 1998. The mission statement of
our Organization includes the following goals:
? promotion of educational activities, updating courses, professional
qualification of artistic and cultural operators and technicians;
? promotion of informational activities, such as: conventions,
editorial activities, and entertainment;
? cultural, technical and organizational consultations to local
authorities;
? promotion of audiovisual, experimental and research activities,
and production, distribution and exchange of suggested projects
nation and world wide.
The numerous members of our Organization include representatives
of the local community, as well as various European and American
film, painting, and writing experts, who chose Umbria and, more
specifically the Upper Tiber Valley, as homeland. Therefore, our
Organization counts on a team that is capable of producing great
initiatives. All the activities that we carry out are in a European
and international environment. Some partners of our activities
have been: the European Coordination of Film Festivals, EIKK in
Karlsruhe (Germany) directed by Edgar Reitz, Riverside Studios
in London, the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Translators
and Interpreters of the University of Bologna in Forlì,
the Umbria Film Commission, and the Multimedia Center of Terni.
