On the occasion of the XXIII edition of the Umbria Film Festival (Montone, 9-14 July 2019), the award-winning Danish director and screenwriter Lone Scherfig will hold a ‘Free of charge’ writing course for cinema.

The course, which will be held on July 13th in Montone (Pg), in the splendid Museum Complex of San Francesco and will last for 4 (four) hours (spread over morning as well as afternoon) and will be held in English.

The course is limited. Up to a maximum of 15 (fifteen) people can participate.

Lone Scherfig

Lone Scherfig has become world famous by winning the Silver Bear at the 2001 Berlinale with the film: ‘Italian for Beginners’. Her career is filled with numerous successes: in 1999 she won the Grand Prize at the Montreal Film Festival with the film: ‘On Our Own’, in 2003 she received 4 (four) nominations for the British Independent Film Award with the film: ‘Wilbur Wants To Kill Himself’, in 2010 with the film: ‘An Education’ she won the prize of the Jury at the Sundance Film Festival and receives 3 (three) Academy Award nominations for Best Film, Best Film Adaptation (Nick Hornby) and Best Actress (Carey Mulligan) and 8 (eight) BAFTA nominations. In 2017, the film: ‘Their Finest’ gets two nominations for the British Independent Film Awards and wins the Audience Award at the Umbria Film Festival. Her latest film: ‘The Kindness of Stranger’ opened the Berlinale 2019.

Scherfig wrote and shot 5 (five) different television series, including : ‘Quiet Waters’, from an idea by Lars von Trier.
