The Drummer and the Keeper is Nick Kelly’s debut feature starring Dermot Murphy and Jacob McCarthy, and it will be premiering at Umbria Film Festival. It tells the story of a bipolar drummer named Gabriel, whose doctor prescribes him a rather unconventional treatment: sunday football. Gabriel reluctantly goes to the first game, but soon changes his mind once he meets the goalie, Christopher, a boy of the same age as Gabriel who suffers from the Asperger’s syndrome. Neither of them realize m yet just how significant this meeting will be for the both of them.
