The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is a 2018 movie directed and co-written by Terry Gilliam.

Freely inspired by the Don Quixote of Miguel de Cervantes, the movie is known as one of the more extreme examples of development hell within film history, with as much as eight attempts of the director to realize it in a time range of twenty years.

The protagonist of the movie is Toby (Adam Driver), a young commercial director who is cynical and disenchanted and who finds himself trapped into the crazy illusion of an old shoemaker (Jonathan Pryce) convinced of being Don Quixote. Toby, after leaving for a more and more surreal adventure, is forced to face the tragical consequences of a movie which he realized when he still was a young idealist: that student movie, adapted from Cervantes’ book, changes forever the dreams and hopes of a small Spanish village. Will Toby be able to redeem himself and find some humanity? Will Don Quixote survive his own madness? Or will love win over everything else?

We are waiting for you to find out.
